Hello, here I am!
My name is Kyle Christopher Jennings and I am currently a Freshman at Central Michigan University. I am 18 years young born on June 4th, 1998 in Inchon City South Korea. I was adopted from South Korea when I was four months old so, I came to America, more specifically Michigan, on October 13th, 1998. My parents, Sean and Kellie Jennings, and I lived in Grand Blanc, MI from the time that I came to America to just around the time that I started elementary school, in which we then moved to Ortonville, MI, which is a fairly small community.
I attended and graduated from Brandon School District in which I was given several opportunities that not only gave me the skills that was needed to become successful, but it most importantly, shaped me into the person that I am today. During my life of growing up through Brandon, I experienced so many different things and I was involved in a variety of different organizations that has given me the opportunity to form relationships with so many different people and it just felt good to be the change that the school needed.
During High School, I was involved in many different sportsand extra-curricular activities such as participating on the Varsity track team as well as the Varsity Swim and Dive team for four years. I was also one of our class officers, being a three year
council member, as well being our student body representative at the Board of Education meetings every month. All of these things helped me grow as a person and helped me become a better leader in which I continued my experience of being involved in leadership in college.
At the start of my senior year, I was struggling to find what I wanted to and where I wanted to go to college. I visited several different universities but only one really stood out to me and that was Central Michigan University. I was drawn into the exhilarating atmosphere and environment that the campus held. I also was very passionate about continuing my path of expanding my leadership abilities and I applied for the Leader Advancement Scholarship in the fall of my senior year. It wasn’t until January that next year when I had been notified of my scholarship that I was set on going to CMU!
As a college student now, I have begun to really think about what I want to with my life. I first thought to myself that although I want to get a good education and become “successful” while Im here at CMU, I really wanted to be involved and I wanted to “put a stamp” on the world and make an impact on campus. Some things that I was interested in being involved in is Greek Life at CMU. Being a part of Greek Life to me has not only given me an opportunity to expand my involvement on campus through leadership, philanthropy, and service, but it has open up so many doors to the world as it is a great way of networking with others that are either interested in the same things as you or they have the same beliefs and goals as you.
I also am very passionate about entertaining people and one of things that I wanted to do with my life is to show me people my interests and passions through expressing myself through media. I recently started a YouTube channel, if you want to subscribe to me that’d be great! I created that channel so I could present to the world things that I’m passionate about as well as entertaining the world of the internet. Something on campus that I want to be involved in is some kind of broadcasting RSO in which I would be able to assist in making my decision of potentially having my major being broadcasting and cinematic arts.
For more about things that I’m passionate about as well as what my plans are for the future, make sure you check out the links above that will express the journey that I will have at CMU!
